Their stories, identities, and contributions are an essential part of our societies \u2014 yet their rights remain under constant pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A reality still marked by violence and discrimination<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite growing visibility, violence against trans communities remains deeply concerning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\ud83d\udc94 <strong>281 trans people were murdered over the past year<\/strong> (TGEU 2025\/2026 data).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udda4 <strong>Trans people of color are disproportionately affected<\/strong>, representing nearly all reported victims.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In some countries, the situation reflects both progress and persistent challenges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7 In England &amp; Wales, <strong>4,780 hate crimes against trans people<\/strong> were recorded (year ending March 2024). While this represents a slight <strong>2% decrease<\/strong>, the long-term trend over the past five years shows a significant increase.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 In the United States, <strong>645 anti-trans bills<\/strong> were tracked as of February 9, 2026. Although only a few have passed and some have failed, the sheer volume reflects ongoing political pressure targeting a community that represents around <strong>1% of the population<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83c\udde8\ud83c\udde6 In Canada, <strong>74% of Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse job seekers<\/strong> report hiding part of their identity in professional contexts (Working on Change study).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These figures highlight a global pattern: beyond physical violence, trans people face systemic discrimination, social exclusion, and barriers to basic rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lovonova.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Mars-31-international-trans-day-of-visibility-Lovo-Nova-umbrella.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"898\" src=\"https:\/\/lovonova.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Mars-31-international-trans-day-of-visibility-Lovo-Nova-umbrella.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7443\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lovonova.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Mars-31-international-trans-day-of-visibility-Lovo-Nova-umbrella.jpg 720w, https:\/\/lovonova.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Mars-31-international-trans-day-of-visibility-Lovo-Nova-umbrella-241x300.jpg 241w, https:\/\/lovonova.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Mars-31-international-trans-day-of-visibility-Lovo-Nova-umbrella-10x12.jpg 10w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stronger mobilization and meaningful progress<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, advocacy, visibility, and institutional change are gaining momentum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddfa In 2026, <strong>WHO Europe<\/strong>, in partnership with the European Commission, launched a major initiative to ensure <strong>non-discriminatory access to healthcare<\/strong>, aiming to remove gender identity as a barrier to dignified treatment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\ude4c\ud83c\udffe In February 2026, the <strong>European Parliament adopted a significant resolution<\/strong> calling for the full recognition of trans women as women in all equality and anti-violence policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These steps mark important progress toward more inclusive systems and protections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Beyond statistics: real lives, real impact<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Behind every number are lives, stories, and communities. Trans people are not abstract figures \u2014 they are colleagues, artists, entrepreneurs, friends, and family members. They shape culture, innovation, and collective progress every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Moving forward together<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The path toward equality requires continued awareness, advocacy, and solidarity.
